Follow competing demand
The official canned-food example is useful because meat and fish are also demanded directly by towns. Supplying the processor therefore creates a routing decision: where should the available cargo go? The developer also identifies grain and tinplate as materials used by other industries.
Map the consumers first. Keep required ingredients separate from optional boosts, and observe downstream capacity before increasing supply. The manual planner records the route you choose; it does not prescribe an unverified recipe ratio.
